BANS Versus Wordpress
When Brian Johnson released his first tutorial Revenue Domains Exposed, he suggested using Wordpress, but also mentioned that BANS was ok to use too. If you don’t know what BANS is, it’s a software program that let’s you build eBay affiliate sites. BANS stands for Build a Niche Store. I’ve used Wordpress and BANS and now the verdict is in.
I have no direct evidence of this, but Google seems to dislike BANS. The handful of sites that I’ve built with BANS, the sites either get sandboxed or banned altogether. One BANS page that I created had close to 20 pages of original content. The site ranked well for a little while, but now it seems to of lost its ranking.
When you purchase SEO Press Formula, Brian suggests to only use Wordpress. Personally I think that’s the best bet. Plus if you’ve used BANS and switch to Wordpress, I guarantee that you’ll never look back at BANS again.
For starters, Wordpress is free, BANS cost about $97. Plus you have the option of using thousands of Wordpress templates, BANS only has a few templates to use, which look similar to all the other templates. Wordpress has thousands and thousands of plugins that you can choose from. Plugins that stop spammers from commenting on your site, plugins that update your software and also backs up your website in case of hackers, and much more. BANS has nothing like that.
All BANS websites look the same, and sometimes they can look sloppy. Wordpress can make a site look as if it was done by a professional in a matter of minutes.
Brian Johnson’s SEO Press Formula comes with two SEO friendly Wordpress templates for you to use. Brian also shows you where to find free plugins and other free templates.
With wordpress, the possibilities are endless. The plugin PHPbay Pro is used by Wordpress users to create a live stream of ebay auctions right to your website. PHPbay Pro isn’t a free plug in, but it’s much cheaper than buying the BANS software, plus has many more options to choose from.
Brian shows you step by step on how to build your own Wordpress site. Nowadays, Wordpress isn’t just for bloggers. You can now create a fully functioning, Google friendly website with unlimited potential. The best part is Brian will also show you how to bring in a steam of income from your wordpress sites too.
